Then there are Ucka, Velebit, Mosor, Biokovo, Snijeznica in the far south - oil offering a wealth of challenges.

Hiking info It is possible to find modest but comfortable lodgings for the night in the mountains in mountain lodges and shelters, in rural homes and in camps, Small hotels and pensions are usually to be found in settlements. Mountaineering paths are marked with a white dot within o red circle (painted on a tree or rock); Other paths also marked include access paths leading to peaks, springs, caves, mountain lodges and shelters.

Personal equipment: usually this is left to personal choice by individual walkers/ hikers. The less experienced should heed the advice given by expert guides as to what to bring along and use.
